What This Once Was

I took this photo with 35 mm film. I'm pretty sure this was with a no. 2 filter. Dodged the model a bit while exposing, then touched up and burned the sidewalk back in Photoshop.
The lovely model is my good friend . We went out on our photo class's first shoot in the downtown area. We ventured down a sidewalk just beyond the quaintness of Main St. to see a sad ruin of what once was a bustling railroad depot and mill community. It's almost heartbreaking to see the eeriness and disrepair and the forgotten parts of town after expansion has pushed the city outwards away from where it began.
