It's been nearly two years. I'm so sorry, and can only hope I can still entertain you all with my ramblings and artwork. I came back to thousands of notifications and messages to read through and clean out in addition to a bewildered feeling as I realized how much my work has progressed since my absence. You know that feeling when you're cleaning out your desk and you come across folders of old drawings from years or even months ago, and your immediate reaction is, "I did that??? I hope to get some things posted soon to show you all what I've been working on in the last two years.

I just graduated from college about a week and a half ago, and I'm left wondering, What now? I've been trying to take the time since then to get moved back home, organized and rested, as junior and senior year were pretty strenuous and left me so tired. I have my first freelance job, but it's for a friend, so I'm not asking nearly as much money as designers typically do. I know that I don't want to do freelance as a main source of income. There's going to be so much involved from dealing with the ever-messy issue of rights and ownership to figuring out sales tax (or taxes for self-employed people in general). Oy. A serious job hunt will be underway before the week is out. (Please, dear Lord, I really don't want to go back to bussing tables.) If anyone knows of any full-time graphic design jobs in the southeast area, send me a link? (Preferably dealing with print jobs; I'd like to avoid web design at all costs, as that is not my forté, but I am willing to learn.) It'd be much appreciated! :)

In the mean time, while I'm back home living with my parents, searching for a full-time job, and trying to adjust to some changes in my personal life, I am also going to get back to work on my Treasure Planet fan fiction. I know I've left a lot of you all hanging. I guess I've been at a lull in the plot and am trying to figure out how to keep the flow going so I can get to all the exciting things to come later! Stick with me, guys, and I will get 'er done.

Thank you all for your patience as I focused on and finished up school projects. You guys are awesome!

Until next time (which will be much speedier than two years from now),
Em

Hey guys!
So, I'm trying to promote my entry to DA's music t-shirt contest: fav.me/d569h76 If you guys like it, please vote for me, share it with your followers, etc. I'd appreciate your help soooo much! :D

Okay, quick update:
My TP fanfiction: I have started writing the next chapter, but I am still working out a lot of details. I'm kind of at a rut. I know where it needs to go after this particular point, but getting there is proving difficult. :/ I will try very hard to have a new chappie up before I head back to school. (Which is in only a month. O_o NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Other stuffs: I will be participating in teaching an art camp at my old elementary/high school next week, so that will be... interesting. I've done this for the last two summers, and... let's just say that a room full of screaming 4-10 year olds is not my favorite thing to work with. I'm glad that I decided not to go in to art ed... I don't think I'd have the patience level for it.

Okay, I gots to go get ready for church so, peace out. :D

New Beginnings

2 min read
Hello, all! It's been a while... yeah... it's been a while.
Anyway, I am alive, (I SURVIVED TYPOGRAPHY. WITH AN A. BOO. YA.) and kickin.' I have actually been working on a lot of art projects since school has been out. Some paintings for my bedroom, some plaques for a wedding gift, I've been cartooning, and I've even done the first 48 frames for a little animation sequence! I will post some of these things soon. Problem is, none of them are finished yet. :/ I tend to get a little over-ambitious and begin too many things at once. Nevertheless, I WILL complete them!

So, the main reason for this entry is to inform you all that I have created another DA account: :iconiamthepaintbrush: where I will be posting some more serious artwork, such as life studies, design projects. You know, stuff that I would want future employers to see. So, thought I'd let you wonderful, beautiful watchers know in case you'd care to follow me there. Never fear, though! I will continue to post fan art and my fanfiction here.

Welp. I don't have anything new. My summer is going by so quickly, but I don't feel like I have done anything. Since I'm still living at home and under my parents rules, I don't get out a lot. In fact, I relish the opportunity to get out once a week to Walmart. I know. Life stinks sometimes. I wasn't able to get a job, since I live in a small town and what few shops and restaurants we have are not hiring. Stupid economy, straighten out! I would gladly contribute, if I could get a job and make money to spend!!!!! :shakefist:

Well, for now, over and out.

Yeah, pretty much. Gotta finish a process book for my typography project by Wednesday sos that I can send it in to LuLu.com. This is by far the most extensive art project that I've ever done. Pulled so many all-nighters for this, and last night was no exception. Yeah. I was doing those 6-second sleeps in Christianity class today.
But what's the use of complaining? "Other women enjoy complaining - not Yente. Not every woman in the world is a Yente." (Sorry. I really want to watch Fiddler on the Roof. I just might postpone sleep so that I can watch through the first three songs.) But yeah, I don't feel like I can really complain, because we only have seven days remaining of classes and then exam week, and BOOM. I will be a junior! WOOT!
Oh! and I'm going to be an RA next year as well, so I'm super excited about getting to know a new hall-full of girls (most likely will be all freshies). What would you guys suggest as a hall theme? I'm going to go to town with wall decorations for the hall. I'm thinking 1950s, but any other suggestions?
Okay, I need to get offa here and get ready for bed before I down this whole pint of Ben & Jerry's.
Hope you lovely people are enjoying the lovely spring-near-summer weather. :D
Over and out. :salute:
